Bulldogs can’t get untracked against Horseshoe Bend

By Pamela Holloway

The LaFayette High Bulldogs were not so lucky on Friday night.

The struggles continue for the LaFayette High Bulldogs football team this season.

The Bulldogs traveled to NewSite, Alabama, to face region foe Horseshoe Bend.

This game was a much needed win for playoff implications for both teams. For the Dogs, it was a must win or hopes of making the playoffs would be slim to none.

LaFayette has been a big thorn in Horseshoe Bend’s side for years and they didn’t have any plans of making it any different this time around. The last time the Generals defeated the Bulldogs was in the year 2014 by a score of 14-0.

But on this night, the Generals had plans of their own and they didn’t have any intentions of letting the Bulldogs leave Battle Stadium with a win on Friday night.

The Generals plan worked to perfection as they mangled the Bulldogs 42-14.
The loss eliminates the Bulldogs from any possible chance of making the postseason this year.

Things will get no easier for LaFayette this Friday when region rival Lanett comes to town.

It’s the battle of Highway 50 and bragging rights for the year for the winning team.

Game time is at 7 P.M. CST. Friday night.
