The weekend of Sept. 22 began with a real Prom Night on the Riverfront with attendees dressed to the 9s! Before dusk, the Riverfront offered places for couples to enjoy food, drink, and friends. Couple had their pictures taken by photographer Joana Oviedo.Once dusk fell and the lights came on, the Splash Pad became the perfect dance floor with romantic music provided by a wonderful DJ, L Taylor.Oktoberfest – Bloomingdale, MI Pictured at top: Just over Allegan County’s southern border, the Bloomingdale Town Square was filled with activities for children of all ages. Just below that photo: Vendors and Food Trucks sold their wares as the Black River Band played familiar tunes.To the northeast, Downtown Wayland and the Women of Wayland joined forces for a Ladies on Main party! The event went from 1-5pm in downtown Wayland with multiple vendors, a fashion show, dance party, discounts, giveaways, a scavenger hunt, and featured drinks/foods. The Fashion Show brought rave reviews as did the henna and the many arts and crafts. No One wanted to miss the food and drink specials, jewelry, plants, and multiple treasures offered by vendors and businesses.To the northwest, the Saugatuck Mini-Golf Course hosted the Allegan County Cup where the Rotary Clubs along the west side of county competed against teams from the east side of the county. All was for fun with the proceeds going to the Allegan County Housing Project with matching funds from the Allegan County Community Foundation. As summer officially turned to autumn during the weekend of Sept. 22-24, 2023, Allegan County did not forget how to enjoy the beautiful weekend with a variety of activities. From south to north and east to west, there were events that could engage all the members of the family.
