Saugatuck candidate forum set Oct. 3

The four candidates who have filed to run for three open two-years seats on Saugatuck City Council in the Nov. 7 election have been invited to a Holland Area League of Women Voters forum Tuesday, Oct. 3, in the Saugatuck High School auditorium, 401 Elizabeth St. from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Incumbents Garnet Lewis and Russ Gardner are seeking re-election while peer Holly Leo after two terms has chosen not to run. Also invited are newcomer hopefuls Holly Anderson and Logan White.
In neighbor Douglas, where only incumbent mayor Jerry Donovan and council member Cathy North filed to run for three open seats, there is no forum scheduled. Incumbent Rob Naumann will not run again, leaving open the vacancy for a possible write-in candidate and or vote. Interested? Paperwork can be filled out through late October at city hall.
