An Alger man who refused to let a Clare couple merge onto U.S. 127 at Rosebush on August 19 later led to a road rage incident and the man waving a gun out his window. Isabella County deputies were called to talk to the victims—a 46-year-old woman and a 47-year-old man, who are both from Clare—at 127 and Baseline Road just before 11 a.m.
“The victims indicated that they were merging onto the highway from Rosebush and were forced to slow down as the car in the outside lane would not move over for them,” Isabella County Sheriff Mike Main said in a statement to The Morning Sun.
The Clare man then passed the other car, which then passed him and slammed on his brakes.
“The victim stated that he was going to pass them again when the other driver started waving a gun out the window,” Main said. “The victim stated that he did pass the other car but during that time the other victim in the car was able to get some phone video.”
Deputies are in the process of tracking down the suspect, who they believe is from Alger.
