McBain school board accepts bid to replace track

MCBAIN – The McBain Board of Education voted at its recent special meeting, to accept the proposal from William A. Kibbe and Associates Inc. for school track replacement.
The board also voted to approve a new bank account with Horizon Bank with the name 2023 Debt for the district’s debt proceeds.
The board voted to hire Larissa Avery as elementary teacher.
Board members also passed a resolution to accept the resignation of Larissa Avery as parapro.
The board voted to accept the hire recommendation of Shelly Jenema, Tech Assistant.
The regular school board meeting superintendent’s report, it was noted new busses were ordered, the district has hired company to do infrared on the roof and the rekeying process is under way.
The business manager reported on the At Risk update, reported the Title application was almost ready to submit, the audit went very well, state aid cash flow money will be received, the new school lunch program opted in and also gave an update on the preschool budget update.
Under committee reports, it was noted the Sinking fund committee met in July. Under facilities, it was report there will be three completions next year: one to one technology, secure entries and middle school gym floor. An infrared scan of the roof was completed.
