February 14, 1947 – August 25, 2023
Diane Veronica (Vernon) Squire passed peacefully on Friday, August 25, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at home. Diane was born February 14, 1947, to the late Robert and Corolyn (Skinner) Vernon. Diane would meet the love of her life Robert Squire and spend over 40 plus years of marriage and sacrifice together. Diane was beyond gifted and truly enjoyed the simple things in life. From living off the land in her immaculate garden or tending her flowers making sure they were just right. Diane and Robert would raise four wonderfully wild children together. Raising their kids to be fierce, empowered, independent, hardworking and God fearing was evident. Their grounded roots and simple upbringing would allow them to accept life as it came and overcome obstacles high or low. Diane and Robert opened their arms and doors to foster other children in the community and counted them as their own. Being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was something that brought great joy to her life. Instilling in them her gifts and talents to extend into the next generations to come. Diane was also an experienced golfer and could spend days at the course enjoying every ounce of the experience. Her love for God was real and could be seen in her devotion to Robert and their life. Diane’s famous quote to her children was “be good” making sure that they kept the family code of respect and grace as they lived their reputations out in the real world. Diane also had a loyal dedication to serving at Wings of Hope Hospice for 15 years, being a face of compassion to those at the end of our physical life but eternal journey. On top of everything, Diane was an avid animal lover, spending what time she had left in a day with her furry companions. Diane leaves a legacy through her family and of key things to live by and hold.
Diane is survived by her husband, Robert Squire; children, Kim Marie Ratulowski, Tammy (Riche) Campbell, Tim Vollink, Jeff (Mineka) Squire; 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert, Corolyn (Skinner) Vernon; and brother, Robert Vernon.
Memorial Service will be on Wednesday, August 30th, 2023, at Chappell Funeral Home in Fennville, MI, at 11:00am with an hour visitation beforehand.
