Rose Marie (Jones) Waychoff, 83 of Allegan, Michigan, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at Briarwood Assisted Living in Allegan, Michigan. Born September 20, 1939, in Allegan, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Rose (Spicer) Jones and the wife of Robert E. Waycoff. Rose was a hard worker and dedicated 34 years of her life working for the Perrigo Company in Allegan. Though work was important to her, she enjoyed life and was a very proud mother who was always giving to her family and others. She was known as a great cook and absolutely loved having breakfast with her family. One always appreciated looking at her yard since she was an avid gardener and the yard always looked top notch. Fun and energetic were wonderful words to describe Rose. She enjoyed polka dancing and loved to walk around town and could put three miles away within 40 minutes. Spending time with her family, though, brought her the most joy. She is already missed greatly.
Surviving are her loving husband of 61 years, Robert Waychoff; her son, Bob “Buzz” Waychoff; two grandchildren, Johnny (Jen) Waychoff and Bri’ (Clay) Wilson; four great-grandchildren, Gunner Waychoff, Wade Wilson, Joselyn Wilson and Ivan Wilson; two sisters-in-law, Pat Jones and Sophie Jones; and many nieces and nephews.
Rose was preceded in death by siblings, Babe (Carl) Tuffelmire, Dotty (Bud) Ochampaugh, Mary (Roy) Johnson, George (Gloria) Jones, Jim Jones, and Don Jones.
The family will be holding a private service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Rose’s name to the American Heart Association (3940 Peninsular Dr SE # 180, Grand Rapids, MI 49546) or a hospice of one’s choosing. Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements.
