Judy Kay Jones, 79, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 in El Paso, Texas. She was born on January 10, 1944 in Paw Paw, Michigan to Emerson & Miriam White. She graduated from Lawton High School, Lawton, Michigan in 1964 and went on to work as a waitress at a local diner where she met her future husband. She married David Phillip Jones on July 23, 1966 and together they had 2 children.
Judy was an avid baker, known for her delicious cookies, decadent brownies, birthday cupcakes and “no reason at all” cakes that were happily inhaled by friends, family and strangers alike. She was a crafter and a quilter, spending many hours with glue gun in-hand or sitting at her sewing machine. She so loved visiting with family at the annual reunions and holiday gatherings. Over the years, she enjoyed traveling with her husband to company retreats. She and David were very active members of the various hometown churches in the communities where they lived over the course of their lives (Belding United Methodist Church, Belding, MI; Melrose Chapel, Quincy, IL; Amissville United Methodist Church, Amissville, VA; Faith Presbyterian Church, Quincy, IL). Judy was also a committed member of her local YMCA water aerobics class in Quincy, Illinois.
Judy is survived by her husband, David P. Jones; her daughter, Victoria S. Jones & husband, Christian M. Rouelle; her son, Brian D. Jones & wife, Rosemary Jones; her granddaughter Chloe B. Jones; her brother, Duane White & wife, Sue White, her brother, Edsel White & wife, Jane White, and her sister, Mary Lou Willis; and so many loving nieces and nephews.
