MARION – Michigan Humanities announces the Fall 2023 author tour dates for the 2023-24 Great Michigan Read author, Angeline Boulley.
She will be at the Marion Library next month.
Boulley’s book, Firekeeper’s Daughter, was named the 2023-24 Great Michigan Read selection in March.
The tour begins on Sept. 25 at the Alpena County George N. Fletcher Public Library.
Boulley will head to Bellaire Public Library on Sept. 26, Marion Public Library on Sept. 27, Romeo District Library on Sept. 28, and Kent District Library—Kentwood Branch on Oct. 12.
Boulley is expected to finish her Great Michigan Read author tour in the Spring of 2024.
“Firekeeper’s Daughter supplies jumping off points for discussion about many important themes and topics that Native American peoples face in Michigan and throughout the country today. We are looking forward to diving into these conversations with Angeline Boulley on the Great Michigan Read author tour stops,” said Jennifer Rupp, President and CEO of Michigan Humanities in a statement.
The 2023-24 Great Michigan Read is presented by Michigan Humanities and supported by national, statewide and local partners, including the National Endowment for the Humanities, The Meijer Foundation, Image Creative Group, Library of Michigan, and biblioboard.
