Pedestrian killed inaccident

ALLEGAN – Allegan County Central Dispatch picked up a call on Aug. 13 on a car-pedestrian crash on 26th St near 108th Ave in Trowbridge Township.
Sgt. Bernard Austhof of the Allegan County Sheriff’s Department said the preliminary investigation shows that a Chevrolet Equinox was traveling south bound on 26th St approaching 108th Ave and struck a pedestrian in the middle of the roadway after dark.
The pedestrian later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Allegan County Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating the incident.
The victim is a 23-year-old male, the sheriff’s department said, but all names of subjects involved are not being released at this time until the family has been notified.
The Allegan County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Life EMS, Otsego Police Department, Gobles Fire Department, and Allegan County Medical Examiner’s Office.
