Sheriff announces promotions

MARION – The Osceola County Sheriff’s Department has reported Matt Allers and Brett Bethuy have been promoted to Sergeant.
Sgt. Allers began working at the Sheriff’s Office in 2019 as a corrections officer. Sgt. Allers has since moved through the ranks and will be supervising one of the night shifts as Sgt. in the corrections division.
Sgt. Bethuy began working at the Sheriff’s Office in 2019 as a corrections officer. Sgt. Bethuy is a training Officer and will be supervising one of the day shifts as Sgt. in the corrections division.
This week Deputies Dougherty, Douglas and Helmer spent 40 hours at the Nationally certified NASRO (National Association of School Resource Officers) basic SRO course. A lot of useful information was presented. The department said Deputies are excited to come back and implement the skills and knowledge gained from this course in area schools.
“Thank you again to the voters for passing our millage so this could happen.”
