Evart city attorney resigns

EVART – At a recent meeting of the Evart City council, it was voted to accept the resignation of city attorney Jim White and to move forward with seeking proposals from other firms.
In other action, the council voted to limit tent camping to 10 days within a 30-day period.
It was also decided to accept the proposed changes in the parks and recreational rules and regulations to include the motion just made plus changing the number of tents allowed to two per campsites at East or one tent and one RV at west and leaving it open as a working document in order to make any other necessary changes.
The council appointed Brian Youngs to the Downtown Development Authority Board for a three-year term expiring in 2026.
The Department of Public Works reported it rebuilt the shoulder at Sixth and Oak and repaired and painted the basketball hoops at Riverside Park.
The department also put in ADA panels at Guyton Park, repaired sidewalk portions around the city, restored and installed an old clock found in the scout house and repaired and painted the horseshoe pits while repairing and painting a pavilion at Riverside West.
The department used 6,000 pounds of hot patch to repair potholes.
