Five peopleinjured when car fails to stop

ALLEGAN – On Sunday evening, deputies from the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of 140th Ave and 47th St in Overisel Twp for a personal injury crash.
According to a report from the sheriff’s department, the preliminary investigation showed that a Ford Explorer was traveling eastbound on 140th Ave and disregarded the stop sign at 47th St before striking a southbound Ford Edge that had the right of way.
Three passengers in the Ford Edge had minor injuries and were released while one passenger was airlifted for critical injuries. The at-fault driver was also transported for treatment due to serious injuries, according to a report from the sheriff’s department.
The Sheriff’s Office Reconstruction Team responded to the scene to assist with the investigation. Also assisting the Sheriff’s Office was the Overisel Fire Department, Hamilton Fire Department, AMR, Michigan State Police, and West Michigan Aircare.
