October 9, 1943 – June 7, 2023
Eloise Frances Raderstorf, 79 of Allegan, Michigan, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at Briarwood Assisted Living in Allegan. Born October 9, 1943 in Allegan, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Eldon and Frances (Page) Philley. Eloise was an Allegan High School graduate, Class of 1961. During high school she worked at The Grill (now known as Minnie’s) and went on to work and retire from Holland Motor Express where she was the accounts receivable supervisor. On April 29, 1967, Eloise married Ted Raderstorf and together they began their family. Eloise was a woman of energy! She had a love of the outdoors and enjoyed being immersed in it while she camped, golfed (though not the greatest golfer), hunted for mushrooms, went sledding in the winter, or her favorite – bicycling. Eloise had a passion for life and did her best to enjoy every minute of it! While indoors, Eloise would enjoy knitting hats and scarves and donating them to the children in the Allegan area. She was a very handy woman who became a house flipper before it was cool – once moving just a few doors down the street. Throughout her life she was known for her deep love and care for animals, never able to turn away a stray, she especially loved her dogs and cats of which she had many over the years. Spending time with her family meant the most to Eloise and she lavished them all with love. Having only one child, she thoroughly enjoyed being “grandma” to her great nieces and nephews, Danny, Gabe, Jade, Rachel and Josh. She made sure to be a part of her entire family’s lives and her presence in their lives is already felt.
Eloise is survived by her daughter, Susan (Luke) Tompkins; her siblings, Karen (Jerry) Francisco; her brothers, Lynn (Deb) Philley and David Philley; her nieces and nephews, Allan Philley, Barb (Joe) Wine, Jerry (Lori) Francisco, Jill (Alex) Vuyst, Brian Philley, Eric (Megan) Philley, Daniel Francisco, Gabriel (Jade) Francisco, Rachel Webb, Joshua Webb, and Ryan Gordon.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Raderstorf; and her brother and his wife, Eldon and Patsy Philley.
The family wishes to thank CorsoCare Hospice and the staff of Briarwood Assisted Living for their care of Eloise.
The family will celebrate Eloise’s life in a private family gathering. Memorial donations may be made in Eloise’s name to your local food bank or animal shelter.
