Brian Wilson, 64, of Clare, passed away unexpectedly on June 3, 2023. It had been almost 20 years, but Brian is finally back in the arms of the love of his life, Pam, in Heaven. Brian was born on April 3, 1959 in Mount Pleasant and was raised in Farwell by his loving parents Leon and Joann Wilson.
Brian will be greatly missed by his survivors; his two daughters, Elizabeth Allen and Nicole Wilson, son-in-law Daniel Allen, three grandchildren Brody, Pamela and Paige Allen, his sister Ellen (Bill) Fordos, mother-in-law Lynda Hitchcock (Haring), brothers-in-law Byron (Cindy) Rease, Jeff (Lisa) Poet, Robert (Kristi) Hitchcock, many aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, more friends than you can count, and his Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Havoc. Brian was proceeded in death by the love of his life, Pam Wilson (Hitchcock), his parents, Robert Leon Wilson and Joanne Wilson (Bigelow), his father-in-law, Robert Hitchcock, his sister, Terri Reese (Wilson), and his sister-in-law Kathy Poet (Hitchcock), and many more family.
Brian was a proud dad and grandpa. He was always willing to sit and share a story, especially if it included bragging up his grandchildren (he lived for them). He could always be found in the stands at a sporting event cheering them on and then offering helpful hints and tips. Brian was quite the athlete himself back in the day. He was a three sport athlete playing football, basketball and baseball. He attended Farwell schools up until his senior year when he moved to Clare. He graduated from Clare High School with the Class of 1977. After high school, he continued to play sports, softball and basketball, with many good friends. Brian was an operator at Dow Corning in Midland for many years, where he took pride in his work. In his spare time, he was an avid hunter. He hunted for white-tailed deer and bird hunted with his German Shorthair Pointers. He was a small hobby farmer and loved to help his girls with 4-H. He enjoyed riding motorcycle and side by sides. He was also a music lover and enjoyed artists like Bob Seger and Travis Tritt. He was an active member at the Clare Moose Lodge and could be found there helping with multiple things, especially Hospice events. He really enjoyed his Thursday golf league with his friends and Trivia/karaoke at the Moose. More than anything else, he just enjoyed being a dad and grandpa. To know Brian was to love Brian. He always had a smile on his face and a loud contagious
laugh. You could hear from a mile away. He had a huge, kind heart and he loved BIG. The loss of Brian will leave a permanent hole in many hearts.
The family would like to invite friends and family to a “Celebration of Life” for Brian at the Clare Moose Lodge on Thursday, June 8th, starting at 1:00pm. There will be a short ceremony for Brian followed by a meal and time for people to come and visit, share their condolences, and visit with the family to remember Brian. Please come out and celebrate the wonderful life that he
