KENT CITY—Saugatuck sophomore Mazie Robison just keeps adding to an already impressive track & field resume.
Competing at the Division 3 State Finals on Saturday, June 3, Robison turned in a pair of All-State performances to give her a total of three All-State medals for her career.
In the 100-meter hurdles, Robison moved up one place from last season to finish runner-up with a personal-record time of 15.32. She also placed seventh in the 300 hurdles at 48.98 after placing 10th in that event last season to miss out on All-State by two places.
Robison’s third event of the day was the 4×100 relay. She joined forces with Vivian Vallarsa, Jaiden Myler and Kiran Gahir to place 21st at 53.24.
The 10 points earned by Robison was good enough to put Saugatuck in a tie for 20th place in the team standings.
For the Saugatuck boys, senior Luke Gorgas narrowly missed out on securing All-State recognition in the final competition of his high school career.
Gorgas placed ninth in pole vault with a height of 12-9.
Fellow senior Charlie Stormer, meanwhile, ran a personal-best 2:02.22 in the 800 to place 11th.
Martin at Division 4 Finals
In the Division 4 State Finals in Baldwin, the Martin boys finished with five points to finish in a tie for 32nd place.
Senior JR Hildebrand accounted for those points with his fourth-place showing in the 300 hurdles. His time of 42.1 represented a personal record.
Teammate James Blackburn was 19th in the same event at 44.78.
Blackburn also teamed with Sam Jager, Gavin Meyers and Taegan Harris to place 15th in the 4×400 relay at 3:42.43.
Senior Lynsey Jager was the lone Martin girl to compete at the Finals. She placed 12th in discus with a throw of 101-8.
