OTSEGO—A doubleheader sweep against Paw Paw on Tuesday, May 16, lifted the Otsego softball team’s record to 18-8.
The Bulldogs won the first game 4-3 thanks to a run in the bottom of the seventh before cruising to the 8-0 victory in game two.
Annabelle Lucas scored the winning run in the first game. After reaching base on an error, she came home on an error on a ball hit by Grace Blanchard.
Lucas doubled twice in the win, while Maddie Elkins (three runs on seven hits with three walks and six strikeouts) pitched the complete game for the win.
In the nightcap, Lucas was 3-for-4 with two more doubles. Cassie Holland also doubled for Otsego, which scored four runs in the first inning and never looked back.
Audrey Lingbeek scattered six hits with no walks and six strikeouts in the complete-game effort for the victory.
