Reward increased for damage reported at Boat Launch and Maple Island

PAW PAW – A $2,00 reward is now being offered for information that leads to an arrest and conviction of the suspect or suspects involved in two separate incidents at Sunset Park Boat Launch and Maple Island, both in Paw Paw, according to an updated press release from the Paw Paw Police Department.
An estimated $15,000 in damage was reported to park bathrooms on Maple Island on Aug. 26, 2022, and then a bathroom and picnic tables at Sunset Park Boat Launch at Maple Lake, on April 29, 2023, received extensive damage.
Paw Paw Police Chief Eric Marshall said the police department received a report from the Paw Paw Department of Public Works on Aug. 26, 2022, in reference to park bathrooms on Maple Lake being “completely destroyed”. Damage to both the men’s and women’s bathrooms “were extensive,” according to the report. On April 29, the Paw Paw Police Department responded to another call reporting damage to both the bathroom and picnic tables at Sunset Park Boat Launch area and Maple Island, off M-40.
The Paw Paw Police Department is seeking assistance from the public with any information related to either incident.
