Middle Branch discusses recycling

MARION – At the recent Middle Branch Township meeting, there was public comment and discussion on if the Board was still considering obtaining recycling and/or garbage in the township.
There was a request Fifth Avenue be paved from 16 Mile to 17 Mile. Discussion on roads followed.
Under old business, it was noted no one has applied for groundskeeper.
It was also reported the counter top has been installed and the flower containers have been purchased. A motion was made and passed to have Mid-Michigan Barns build the pavilion and place a down payment with the ARPA funds.
The township will work with the company to get this accomplished.
Mecosta/Osceola hazardous waste was discussed. It was reported the township will not contribute money and let whoever takes items donate.
The annual Road Commission meeting occur on Tuesday, at 5 p.m. The road committee will drive the township roads prior and make a list of the neediest roads. Peggy Hoard reported she has the cemetery plot maps done and will place them in the sign boards as soon as weather permits. A motion passed to have her check companies and change to a cheaper telephone company as Lingo has raised their monthly bill to about $85.
April 26 and 27 was set to be the township audit. Hoard will obtain the deeds to the two township properties from the Register of Deeds office. She will also get seven plat books from Flemmings.
