Elaine Thomas Russell Struble, 95, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, formerly of Coleman, Michigan, passed away on April 12, 2023. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on October 17, 1927 to the late Frank and Zetta (Fields) Thomas. She married Roger Russell and they moved from Ohio to Lake, Michigan where they lived and raised their family of five children. While raising children she worked in the kitchen at Lake School and worked as a lab tech at the Kraft Foods cheese plant in Clare. She later married Stanley Struble and after retirement moved from Farwell to Coleman where she was a member of Coleman Faith United Methodist Church. Due to health issues, she moved to Hot Springs in 2020 to be closer to family who could give her the additional assistance she needed. She had many hobbies throughout her years always trying something new, but especially loved sewing, quilting, especially with the Clare Nazarene Church quilt group “Quilts of Love” ministry, knitting, crocheting, and many years as a leader with the Clare County 4-H program.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Russell, sons Richard and Ronald Russell, and husbands Roger Russell and Stanley Struble.
Survivors include children Ken (Margaret) Russell, Vonore, TN, Debbie (Paul) Van Veghel, Hot Springs, AR and Randy (Sharon) Russell, Spring Hill, FL along with 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
