Laura Jeanne Vogt, of Paw Paw, passed away Monday, April 10, 2023, at home with her family by her side. She was born Sept. 7, 1974, in Oak Park, Illinois, the daughter of David Howard Vogt, Sr., and Kathleen (Lyons) Vogt.
Laura moved with her family from Chicago to Paw Paw at a young age. She was a longtime member of Saint Mary Catholic Church and enjoyed attending church events. Laura loved listening to music, especially Elvis and Kenny Rogers. She participated in the Special Olympics over the years. Laura was able to visit 28 states during her life and went on a few cruises. She loved eating all different types of food, playing bingo, coloring, and dancing. Laura could be known to be a bit stubborn, but she had a huge heart and treasured her nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her mother, Kathleen (Lyons) Vogt; three brothers, Ulreh (Paty) Vogt, David H. Vogt, Jr., and Christopher (Maria), Sr.; nieces and nephews, Marisa, Matthew, Sarah, Kelly, Kaelee, Shayla, Christopher, Jr., Kristy and Nicolas; step-niece, Kathy; three great-nieces, Isabella, Kathy and Karen. Laura is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Laura was preceded in death by her father, David Howard Vogt, Sr., in 2017.
Family and friends are invited to visit Wednesday, April 12, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home, 502 West Michigan Ave., Paw Paw. Mass of Christian burial will follow Thursday, April 13, at 11 a.m. at Saint Mary Catholic Church, Paw Paw, with the Rev. Richard Altine officiating. Interment will follow at Saint Mary Cemetery, Paw Paw.
