MARION – The Osceola County Board of Commissioners at its Tuesday meeting, voted to approve the proposal from Kram Construction and Design for the EMS Station in Evart for a cost of $58,600.
The board voted to approve the east doors of the Courthouse to be used by county employees only as an entrance/exit.
“This is a part of our long-time plan for security at the courthouse to make sure all of our employees are safe,” commissioner Tim Michell of Middle Branch Township said.
The board voted to approve the Electrical Inspector Services agreement as presented and authorize the Board Chair to sign.
They also voted to approve the Plumbing Mechanical Inspector Services agreement as presented and authorize the Board Chair to sign.
“We have our own building official but we contract out the electrical inspector and plumbing mechanical inspector,” Michell said, noting these are two separate individuals.
The board approved the Sheriff Department to purchase two stun belts for an additional $620 from the original quote for a total of $4,320.
“They had some grant money available,” Michell said. “The stun belt is worn by the defendant.”
