Charlene Ruth Harvey, age 81 of Clare, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at the MyMichigan Medical Center in Midland. Charlene was born the daughter of Randolph and Dorothy (Hayes) Rockey on January 22, 1941 in Clare. She was united in marriage to Richard B. Harvey on August 24, 1968. Charlene had earned Bachelors of Arts Degree from Findlay College and began her teaching career thereafter. She had taught school for 7 years at the Airport Community Schools in South Rockwood, as well as 35 years at the Clare Public Schools. Her hobbies included gardening and quilting; she was a member of the Arthur Center Church of God.
Charlene is survived by her husband Richard; children Lois (James) Dailey of Coleman, Renee (Joe) Patrick of Midland and James L. Harvey of Indiana; a brother Alvin (Nina) Rockey of Franklin, Indiana; 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents and siblings Harold, Donald, Marlin, Anna Lou King and Neil.
In keeping with Charlene’s wishes cremation has taken place with internment to be held in the Arthur Twp. Cemetery on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 10 A.M. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution are asked to consider the Hospice of your choice. Arrangements were handled by the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home.
