Tuesday night, both the girls’ and boys’ basketball teams braved the weather and faced off against the Warriors. The boys hosted Chip Hills in Clare and fought hard through the whole game. The teams both came to play, and they kept the score tight the whole game. The last quarter it seemed like the boys were playing football more than basketball, which sent a lot of players to the free throw line. It came down to the last few minutes of the game and ended with the Warriors winning 59-51.
The girls traveled to Chippewa Hills High School to take care of business. Megan Gross showed us all once again that leaving her open at the 3 point line is a mistake you don’t want to make. She finished the night with seven 3 pointers and a total of 27 points.
The JV teams also put up quite the fight against the Warriors. The JV girl’s team, coached by Tim Veenkant, walked away with a 35-18 win for the night. Back in Clare, Shane Kelly’s JV boy’s team won 39-26. Lincoln Older led the team with 12 points and Jacob Halicek followed with 10.
